Counseling & Guidance

Many parents and families are referred to AWMH for Parent to Parent Counseling and for guidance on various issues related to their children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. They are provided with appropriate counseling, guidance and directions based on their queries, free of cost.

Every year, about 200 parents or special children are given free counseling and guidance.

Looking at the needs of such parents and families, AWMH proposes to establish a “Counseling & Guidance Centre”, where all necessary preventative, diagnostic and assistive remedial facilities could be provided under one roof.

Services of Gynecologists, Neonatologists, Pediatricians, Neurologists, Psychiatrists, Orthopedic Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Pathologists, Geneticists etc. would be made available at the centre.

This of course, depends on availability of appropriate premises and funds from donors and sponsors to Purchase, Develop & Equip the premises and to run the Centre efficiently.
